While Nigerians were still in the
mood of celebration, thanking God for another year, after passing through a
year full of crisis and uprisings round the world, the federal government
yesterday been the very first day of the year presents Nigerians a diabolically
gift which cut short the celebrations of Nigerians by announcing the removal of
the so called fuel subsidy starting with immediate effect. What else is left to
be said, the government never told us that the removal of fuel subsidy was
going to take effect so quickly not even as early as this. Some many
controversial comments are still on this issue, lots of consultation and discussions
are
still on, only for us to hear that the subsidy has been removed. How can a government remove fuel subsidy in a time like this when unemployment has reached record levels, factories are closing down by the day, mass migration is taking place from the rural that are now poverty centers to the cities and even away from the country, all infrastructures are collapsing –roads, school, hospital e.t.c.

Fellow Nigerians, for how long will
the government continue to fool us? For how long will the government continue
to play on our intelligence? Gone in the days of Maradona but now we are in the
era of Messi, is that why our government has been so merciless on us?
Despite the abundance in the land, Nigeria
is said to have recorded over $247 billion GDP, with over $36 billion in
foreign reserves, and an estimated $180 billion expected from total sale of oil
this year, the masses still suffer while the elected consume about 80% of the
income.
While Nigerians are still mourning
the Christmas day bombing by the Boko Haram sect, the government now did theirs
on the very first day of a new year. Why
does the government always want us to pay the price for all their mistakes and outcomes
of bad leadership while they continue to live in peasant’s luxury?
Come to think about this, when the
government did not remove fuel subsidy, there were too much money in the system
such that just a single person can embezzle billions of naira now that subsidy
is removed and more money will be in the system only God knows the trillions
that will be embezzled now.
Do you agree with me that if
government remove corruption, there will be enough money to take care of the so
called subsidy, if it exists? Why not then remove corruption instead of subsidy.
The truth is, these people do not have our interest at heart, all the policies
they create and the decision they reach is just in a way to make them richer
and make their account more buoyant.
Is this the president that claims
that he feels our pains? Impossible! He does not understand the slightest
meaning of what pain is, because if he does, he would not have done this
terrible thing not even in a time like this. In a country where an average Nigerian
feeds on less than $2 in a day while the presidency is advocating for about a
billion naira for food alone, tell me why won’t them remove fuel subsidy?
In one of my previous post I wrote on
a pos titled, Nigerians, peaceful or cowards? * The time is now! No doubt that this
is the right time to tell the world if we are cowards or not and if we will
fold our hands again and watch the bizarre behaviours of our leaders
