Sociological damage done to the teaching profession has made it to suffer chronic ambivalence in the Nigerian society, to what extent would you subscribe to the above assertion?
In order for the government to realize the goals on educational policy,we nigerians generally needs to help the government to implement their policy by hving nigeria first on our mind
Nigeria economy the role of teacher is not clear becuase is ordered to abandone his class work to play other roles, his incoome is low and he's socially helpless
the nigerian economy is full of self professed who lack the technical know how to pratice effectivelly
okoh jecoliah udochi[unad/r/la/10/0180]computer science.the above question can be subscribed to extent that the present situation of nigerian economy is not only damaging the sociological aspect of teaching professsion alone but also every aspect of the country because even before the subsidy every aspect of the economy lacked progression, which is definitely affectin the social life of an average citizen and has damaged the students and the teachers concentration in school.

Too many unqualified teachers in the profession and the governments indifference to education, considering the amount budgeted to the educational sector annually compared to others is really not encouraging. This and so many other factors have caused the ambivalence, and its high time we did something about it to curb this mixed feelings which has caused many youths and prospective students to shy away completely from the profession, seeing it as 'unprofitable' - Erhimefure Onojovwo. This assertion has gone so far as affecting some individuals in d future. I can say that untrained teachers are more responsible for alot of educational problem. When there are untrained teachers in teaching profession they would not understand what they are suppose to do in the classroom and how to control the classroom. An untrained teacher may lead to the followings. .All students would not be carried along during teaching. .There would be half baked students produced, such individuals would not be fit in the society professiionally and may partake in criminal activities. .The teacher would have no understanding of the pupils behaviours, academic performance, and would therefore be unable to assist and correct them to make teaching and learning process easy and fulfilled. The student would not love to stay in such classes, which would lead tofailure. HOW TO AVERT THIS EDUCATIONAL PROBLEM. .Untrained teachers should not be allowed into teaching profession. .The government should lay down a law against any school that accepts unqualified people into the profession to avoid destroying young peoples future. .Schools should be supervised by the NIGERIAN UNION OF TEACHERS[NUT].Oloye Awanut .O.Biology Department 200L.UNAD/R/LA/10/0111.
The teaching profession amd the academic sector, generally suffers a ridiculously conspicous defeat which has led to its wallowing in decadence. Recently, we are aware of the protracted strike of (ASSU)even before the Nation wide Strike. We see that the mentality of the people in the society does not call for protest over this, even as the govenment shuts its eye over the issue, leading to a chronic ambivalence. The body had been agitating to be heard and attended to , but a blind eye is turned on them. Painfully, the sociologaical cognitive power of the people reasons that the teahing profession does not worth a pie. This is apparently why we see people swearing that they would never be teachers. It is obvious, literature writers have vehemently pointed this menace out in their works, satirically displaying the sociological behaviour of the people towards the acedemic sector and the very reputable and meritorous teaching profession . According to the play, Sons and Daughters by Joseph Coleman DeGraft in Act II, we see how James Ofosu, the leading character swears that non of his childeren would ever be a teacher despite the fact that his aunt, Aunt Fosuwa tries to persuade him. Studying at the College of Medicine or Law is a cherised pride ammong the people but the College of Education is looked down upon! The home of scholars the stream of knowledge that waters other sector is now being jettisoned to die and become a desert over night. I personally believe it is an absurd impression which needs to be corrected. I, as a person receive scornings and stigma when I reveal my ambition of standing before learners to impact knowledge. I am often told off and ostracized. I am convinced that it is not so in other parts of the world as Europe. We know well of Wendy Cope, a cherised tearher, Aristolte of Athens, Mariam Montessori, Fedrich Frobel, Socrates and Plato. I beleive we need to call on knowledgeable Sociologists and Philosophers to bring this perception to a termination.

Not only the society, but also the government make the Teaching Profession to suffer an irreparable menace in our society of today. The teaching profession, unlike other professional fields like banking, engineering, medicine and law, to mention a few does not have societal and national esteem and embrace from the people who massively benefit from it. The government for instance believes that the academic sector is only a canker-worm deeply into the resources of the nation and that its yeilding or returns is slow and not immediate. If the type of funds that is often stuffed up to the throat of other sectors like politics, especially during campaign and elections is once directed into education, we know what we shall have in our hands. The councillors and chairmen of the political sector are highly paid than the degeree olders in the educational field. It is a pitiable condition that teachers who mould, shapen and impart effectively into the lives of the learners from the pre-primary school to the tertiary are not impressively remunerated and catered for!
To cap it all, the consequence of all these is that the young and younger generations do not see this profession as a proud and reputable one, An intand remedy is therefor required.
