NIGERIAN PRESIDENT SACKS CHIEF OF POLICE
Saturday, 21 January 2012
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE,......................
I do not know whether the hearts of the police officers involved in the transferring of Kabiru Umar (a.k.a. Kabiru Sokoto) the alleged mastermind of a Christmas Day church bombing in Madalla, Niger state, that claimed at least 44 lives, are disturbed or not by the fantasy of his escape and their conscience pricked or not by the circumstances surrounding his break away.
It is impossible to reconcile the
level of preparedness of the police in terms of

SANITATION, A KEY TO HEALTHY LIVING
More
people today are affected by the negative impacts of poor sanitation than by
wars, terrorism, natural disasters and weapons of mass destruction all
combined. This is due to the fact that majority of the world’s prevailing and well reported diseases globally such as

FOR HOW LONG WILL THEY CONTINUE TO FOOL US?
We have trended this path for so long
and we have been patient enough, watching the high level of heartlessness of
our leaders, taking note of their prodigal and superfluous spending and
observing their exorbitant mismanagement. There is no country in the world that
can take all these from their leaders; it is only in Nigeria that things like this
happens. Can a reasonable government wakes up in a day and increase the price
of an essential commodity over a 100%? That’s just BARBARIC, DEVILISH, SATANIC, ANIMALISTIC

NLC VS FG * STALEMATE
As the strike moves on to the third
day, tension increases, the peaceful Nigerians I used to know before are no
longer the peaceful Nigerians that I am seeing now. Both the young and the old
occupied major roads, rally centres and others across the country, most
especially in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Kano etc clamouring for the same thing –
government should revert the pump price of PMS, this is the very first time in
history Nigerians are coming out in mass to protest for their right and
dignity. From all indications both the government and the masses are standing
by their words, government says it won’t revert while the masses say strike
goes on. Somebody needs to bend for peace to resign, who will that be? Is it
the government or the masses? Or both the government and the masses? Until then

FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL: PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN'S SPEECH
Dear Compatriots: 1. A week ago, I had cause to address Nigerians on the security challenges we are facing in parts of the country, which necessitated the declaration of a state of emergency in 15 Local Government Areas in four states of the Federation. That course of action attracted widespread support and a demonstration of understanding. With that declaration, government had again signaled its intention to combat terrorism with renewed vigour and to assure every Nigerian of safety.
2. The support that we have received in the fight against terrorism from concerned Nigerians at home and abroad has been remarkable. We believe that it is with such continued support that progress can be made on national issues. Let me

PRESIDENCY PRESENTS NEW YEAR`S GIFT
While Nigerians were still in the
mood of celebration, thanking God for another year, after passing through a
year full of crisis and uprisings round the world, the federal government
yesterday been the very first day of the year presents Nigerians a diabolically
gift which cut short the celebrations of Nigerians by announcing the removal of
the so called fuel subsidy starting with immediate effect. What else is left to
be said, the government never told us that the removal of fuel subsidy was
going to take effect so quickly not even as early as this. Some many
controversial comments are still on this issue, lots of consultation and discussions

BOKO HARAM`S ACTIVITIES IN 2011
Let me remind you of some of the
activities of the Boko Haram sect so far last year:
On April 1 (the day before the original date of
Nigeria’s legislative elections), suspected Boko Haram members attacked a
police station in Bauchi.
On April 9, a polling center in Maiduguri was
destroyed.
On April 15, the Maiduguri office of the
Independent National Electoral Commission was bombed, and several people were
shot in a separate incident on the same day. Authorities suspected Boko Haram.
On April 20, Boko Haram killed a Muslim cleric and
ambushed several police officers in Maiduguri.
On April 22, Boko Haram freed 14 prisoners during
2011 POLITICS AT A GLANCE
What a dynamic year that would always
be remembered both by individual and collectively, full of uprisings and
crisis, a year that changed the world. In terms of war, it is characterized as
war between governments and the peoples. Some of the major world events making
top stories last year were:
Revolt across the Arab World
The Royal wedding
The death of
