OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN

Dear Mr. President,
Sir, it is with great sense of disappointment that I write you this letter. Like many others I hoped that your election would bring a salutary change of direction to the country and that you will deliver the true dividend of democracy to the people going by the gospel of transformation you preached during your campaign coupled with your innocent look. Everyone had thought that the messiah has come to Nigeria and majority could not just wait to give you their mandate which they all did. However I have keenly observed that you have in turned paid evil for good to Nigerians who gave you their
mandates.
Though I cannot credibly blame you for the socio-political and economic mess that you inherited from your predecessors but then even the policy response on your watch has been profligate and largely ineffectual and also your attitude and response so far towards some vital issues that is germane to the economical growth of this nation, such as, response towards corrupt cases, as not really shown that you are ready for that TRANSFORMATION you yelled.
The fuel subsidy saga still remains a gaping wound for most Nigerians who are yet to fully recover from the shock it brought on them. You claimed that siphoning of fuel subsidy fund by members of a powerful and well known oil cartel also known as cabals is one of the reasons for the removal of fuel subsidy.
Now, due to hearings by the Lawan Farouk led committee in the house of representative, the alarming revelations hitherto are hardly surprising given the depth and breadth of thievery and chicanery that we have been used to hearing. The names of the culprits have been enumerated; the amount swallowed up by these greedy individuals and their businesses has been named. There have been numerous newspaper reports on this matter which are unambiguous and explicit enough for any being to comprehend.
Sir, up till date you are yet to take any appreciable step in prosecuting these cabals, rather, you have decided to pamper them and have also developed cold feet in prosecuting and incarcerating them but inflict unmerited hardship on millions of innocent Nigerians who do not have the privilege to be among the cabals.
It is not enough to say that those behind the whole saga will be prosecuted; rather, what Nigerians are earnestly waiting for is the prosecution of this people and not just prosecution by mouth or prosecution on the pages of newspaper or by the media alone.
Sir, how much time do you need to clean up this mess- massive fraud, carried out by these cabals by bringing them to justice? How much time do you need to restore sanity to the management of Nigeria`s oil resources in a manner that benefits a nation that purports to care about her citizens? How much time Sir?
Sir, if there is any best way to justify the removal of fuel subsidy and to really show Nigerians that you are indeed ready for TRANSFORMATION I believes this is it!
Of course Sir, I would have said more but I wouldn`t want to consume much of your time on this so that you can also attend to other pressing issues.
Yours sincerely
